Wait. So who is PATH for?
We get this question all the time. And it makes sense; we don't fit neatly into a box.
Simply put: Progressive Christian leaders.
Some of our PATH students are matriculated Master of Divinity students, while others have never been to seminary. Some are currently serving congregations as solo pastors, while others are interns in one of our partner congregations. Some are working only in ministry, while others have a non-ministry full-time job.
All of our students are current and future leaders of the progressive Church, committed to personal and professional growth in Christian leadership.

Imagine PATH like a road with many onramps.
Students join PATH at different points in their journey and stay for different amounts of time. PATH is purposely designed to be adaptive.
Students Enrolled in a Seminary Program
PATH fits perfectly with students enrolled in an MDiv program. Our classes will complement the classes in your degree program and, since our courses are accredited by our seminary partners, we can talk about cross-registration credit no matter where you are enrolled.
Our substantive and robust, multi-year internships in our partner congregations will not only inform the work you do in our classes, they'll provide you plenty of practical touchstones for your other classes. As the work of PATH is focused on practical skills, priority is given to students actively serving in ministry in some capacity, but there are always exceptions. |
Students Employed Full-Time in Ministry
As we all know, learning doesn't end when you're handed a degree - or at least it shouldn't! PATH is a great way for newly ordained or seasoned pastors to continue their education and growth.
We can work in the schedule of pastor who would like to do a bit more learning and/or those needing continuing education credits. |
Students Not Enrolled in a Seminary Program
For some pastors, a graduate degree is too expensive or impractical. That doesn't mean you shouldn't have access to quality, faithful, leadership education. Our class times are flexible, so students working a full-time job outside of ministry don't have to quit in order to learn.
Additionally, we can work with a Committee on Ministry/Formation to help you build a portfolio on the path towards ordination. This includes providing you access to our seminary partners if you would like to take additional courses we do not offer. |
